We Bleed Design

I’ve been looking at CSS tutorials so that I can make my blog look good without making it look shite in the process.

Here’s a site I discovered on my travels, and I’ve no seen anything as imaginative on the internet for a long, long time:

http://www.webleeddesign.com

P.S. Scroll down when you get there.

  • Al
Just came across http://www.sursly.com/ and thought it was pretty inventive, similar sort of idea as the We Bleed Design site.
  • Ross M Says:
"Btw, dae people you know call you Limmy or Brian?"

It depends, just like most cunts' nickname. If somebody asks me if they should call me Brian or Limmy, I say Brian, cos it makes me feel less of a wank.
  • Jimboooo!
    That's rubbish.
    Check this one out:
    http://producten.hema.nl/

    Wait for it...
  • Big Dan
i do need to gain a life at some point.
  • Dinzy
Just one more thing (Columbo style): I'd really like to punish these web pirates. send them a wee bug, or 'virus' if you will.
  • Dinzy
Sorry for using all your internet braininess Limmy/Limmy fans, but seein as you're all right intae your cyberknowledge:

Every time i use google to search for something, say limmy.com and then i try to click on say limmy.com, some bastardin' rogue search engine called 'illfindyou' or 'top-uk.com' or somethin keeps redirecting me away from, say, limmy.com.

I feel like greetin' and I'm not a computer problem solver. Why and how have these Somali-esque pirates taken over my internet world.

Help me limmyfans on say, limmy.com
  • I agree with Dave
  • Dave
Thank you for enlightening us Big Dan.
  • "digital keepsakes"

    Pretentious as fuck.
  • Big Dan
Cracking idea that. Its a background image fixed in the middle at the top with other images above it that make it look like its passing through things. (cheated and viewed the images with right-click - im sad i know).

CSS isn't difficult to learn, mess about with some wordpress themes and get a feel for how they are built.

I know people are saying content is more important (and in most cases it is) but this bloke is showing off his talents as a designer, wheras limmys site will be content oriented.

Anyway im away for a lie doon.
  • Ross M
Btw, dae people you know call you Limmy or Brian?
  • I liked the wee goblin alien types hiding in the wee caves the best. Easily pleased, me.
  • Nae bother, Chris! It caught me off guard cos I was trying to work out why I was getting a Nazi salute. I had about three or four theories in my head before you told me you were doing the Doubletake video. (I thought I'd drop that bit in about the video, in case anycunt thinks I'm having secret Nazi meetings).

Lee, no in a million years.
  • chris
Keep the design simple, nothing worse than overpowering it with shit and the real message gets lost.

btw I apologise for the morrisons car park nazi salute type greeting i gave you the other week, sure i caught you off guard.dont normally go round carrying out bad impressions of your videos in dark car parks.
  • Lee
Site needs a forum for even more diverse topics of chat.

    Dae it!

"I still visit zombo.com for my positivity fix.

    http://www.zombo.com/"

Pffffft, you've been had mate, obmoz is where it's at

    http://www.obmoz.com/
  • Ted
I like the use of a semitransparent background to minimise all the crazy CSS. if only there was a reliable platform independent way of controlling a smooth scroll with ease in and ease out that would be lovely.

nice print design down the bottom too.
  • I still visit zombo.com for my positivity fix.

    http://www.zombo.com/
  • kaney
    This is much better

    http://prismgirl.org/

its to say that theres much more happening off screen
  • Ross M
I'm at work so i have to use shitey IE.

    Wilny display properly.

Looks like it might be quite smart.
  • Oh dear Limmy, that site's a wee bit old! Get with the times, eh? ;)

Have you had a swatch at http://www.dontclick.it/ Not really related, but quite interesting all the same.
  • Dave
That page is awesome. Must have taken him ages.

Wonder if my gravatar will work now too....
  • That actually is a lovely looking website. Not seen anything like that on the net for a long time. Makes me wish that i'd kept up learning webby stuff instead of giving up cos i couldn't understand the CSS, HTML rules...OK
  • On another note, all that nonsense about the LHC trying to find Dark Matter can fuck off, they've been scooped!

    http://www.russiatoday.com/scitech/news/33603
  • I was born yesterday!
  • All this jargon you are using is meaningless to me but I that site looks very creative. I have as much artistic ability as the people who design the uniforms for folk that work in supermarkets.
  • Graeme
Sweet bit of web design, nice use of PNG's.
  • craig
The wife is going on a course next week in Edinburgh and it is css stuff she is doing.
I see at the very bottom of the page they are also designing Dunnys (the wee vinyl toy at the bottom of the page that looks like a rabbit)
  • Paul
    old site is old
  • That guy must've worn out the preview page button lining that shit up!!
    Nightmare!....but worth it.
  • Dode
Quality... thought it was going to be shite, but it wasn't. Thx for posting
  • Gee_Man
a tryed to type out an estimate for a job on ms word and it all went down the 1 side of the page a think ill stay clear of this shit!
  • Guilty Bystander
I agree with Kevin - style over substance - looks okay, but you'd get frustrated waiting for his snazzy wee site to get to the point.
  • Kevin
Pretty cool how he did that. I'm sure if you visited the site frequently it would quickly become a pain in the arse though.
  • Dinzy
It took me an hour to make a text box on word lastnight.

Is this design gizmojig something I need to get intae?
  • Addicted2Tunnocks
Pretty funky. Nothing on the web will ever seduce me as much as Vector Park did when I stumbled upon it so many years ago though.

    I still get goosebumps...
  • Al
That site's pretty sweet, must have been a pain for him to put it together though.

The W3C were clearly drunk when they put together the CSS standard, it's a great idea but no browser renders anything the same because the standard is full of "you can render this however you want, we don't care". Pain in the god damn ass if you ask me!
  • Mawhrin-Skel
Is there not a way for you to work offline, so you can trash things and it doesn´t matter? Or is that no slick enough for the flash master?
  • People who spend time making the internet look good should get knighthoods and honours, not fucking kelly holmes.
  • Frase
    That's some nice site design.

Can we expect wee Limmy heads floating around our mouse pointers any time soon, or something equally snazzy/annoying ?
  • Stuart
    BRING IT! ;)

Maybe we could get a limmy.com CoD5 death-match going soon... by that time I'll have gotten batter at dodging 12 year old weans snipering me with the greatest of ease all day every day
  • Poofyprick, if you'd like to do Flash animations, I'd strongly suggest getting a piece of software called "Flash".

    Hahahahahaha.

Stuart, I've no played anything on the Xbox for a while, I've lost my joie de vive. But I'll be back and you'll die like the rest. Sick of these fuckin internet threats.
  • Stuart
Reminds me of this Dutch retailer's website:

    http://producten.hema.nl/

(oh, btw I added you on xbox live the other day, so feel free to ignore me. Have you made the leap to CoD5 yet?)
  • Poofyprick
very nice. i appreciate stuff like that. i'd like to learn how to design websites and do flash animations but i don't know anything about code. you obviously know what you're doing Limmy can you suggest which software i should learn (except photoshop and illustrator which i know pretty well already). is it just flash and dreamweaver for this sort of thing?

    a pregnant baby.
