One of the funniest shows I've seen show up on the BBC in a while. Really hope there's a second series!

  5. xbrandxnewx says:

    it was grand!
really enjoyed it, fuck all the people that didn't give it a chance cause they didnt want to like something that everyone else did. Probably the same cunts that dont like certain bands cause there too “mainstream”.

series 1 was good, hope theres a second! and even if you dont get a second series, you should be pleased with youself for series one. you done a good job creating something worth watching on the tv again. It was strangely good to have that fairly sad feeling of “awwh yass, thats on the tv tomorrow”.
i tried for a wee bit to think of a way to say that without sounding too cheesy, gave up.

all the best, hope to see more online stuff. no resting or that…

  6. garrybuck says:

    well done man

  7. SleepinLitAhMadFuckinCatMan says:

  9. crowsus says:

I've only seen 3 (1, 2, 5) due to work and liked almost all of each of em. Some really clever stuff involved. Lookin forward to watching the ones I missed on i-player. Hope you enjoyed making it.

Dunno if you want to put the pressure on yourself to dream up enough for a second run straight away, dont want it to be rushed and shit, that could ruin it all big time. Maybe leave it for two years and build up a good wad of material?

Yes, you should dae that. I have spoken!

    Eckies!

  10. Grysalis says:

Nice one , me and friends loved the show, watched them all a couple of times , I am still tripping , think I'm on a perma !

  11. Colin says:

Pure gutted man. Mondays are shite again. Hope series 2 gets the go ahead or im gony dae somthing stupid up the bbc headquarters.

  12. Daniel says:

    that wis brahma big man!

  13. Robert Booth says:

Finished…. just drop it Limmy, the whole thing needed 110% more jumpstyle.

  14. jonnyg69 says:

Belter of a series. Agree with the rest, Monday's night telly will be back to being shite again.

Oh aye, that Mulvaney sketch last night was a topper!

  15. aldono says:

Braw matey, best thing since . .

  16. halfnakedspider says:

Superb series, thought it was hilarious. The fat guy with the dark hair is a terrible actor haha, still funny though. The other fat guy is better, seen his sketches on youtube lol. Hope to see another series with a return of Dee Dee & Falconhoof hahah.

  17. chikafaz says:

Brilliant, pissed myself laughing at a lot of those sketches. Good luck for a second series!

  18. mccabesagrass says:

    no Eddie Munster?…no comment!

  19. christonabike says:

Limmy, well done, congratulations and thank you for restoring my faith in comedy. that was superbly funny tv and you better get a second series.

particularly loved Dee Dee, Mulvaney…. in fact pretty much all of it was fucking magic!

“Thats it, thats it, do your little turn”

  20. donknee says:

    Yes most splendid my man.
Oh and on a peripheral note that is coursing off tangent … what the fuck is trending ?

  21. ianl1960 says:

Really enjoyed all the episodes. Here's hoping you get a second series. Episode 3 was a favourite but I thought they get better as they went , maybe because some of the characters grew on me I don't know. All the best. Ian

  22. g_unit says:

release it on dvd. i can't watch it as i dont live in the uk anymore : /

  23. Kieran says:

Thoroughly enjoyed the shows. It was nice to have had something so interesting and funny on normal TV.

  24. Andy says:

hope there's a dvd of it!

  25. austink says:

  26. mcphengus says:

Just so you know Limmy – you forgot yer bag!
Ken when you said, “What are you still doin here? – you've already seen she didnae get me”. Well you didnae yer CD's!
Crackin show though mate, hope you keep trippin an seeing thousands of people watchin you – in a good “There's yer second series” kind of way.

  27. michaelllllllllllllllllllll says:

sorry limmy, enjoyed about 10% of it. gutted

  28. Galvanizer says:

@ Brandnew “fuck all the people that didn't give it a chance cause they didnt want to like something that everyone else did. Probably the same cunts that dont like certain bands cause there too “mainstream”.”

    Absolutely fucking nonsensical statement.

  29. The Mighty Quinn says:

Hope you're on for another series man

  30. joefritzl says:

Brandnew “fuck all the people that didn't give it a chance cause they didnt want to like something that everyone else did. Probably the same cunts that dont like certain bands cause there too “mainstream”.”

    Absolutely fucking nonsensical statement.

how is that a nonsensical statement? i understood what he meant fine.

i just think you like being a wee wide cunt.

  31. joefritzl says:

    good show limmy.

a pished maself at the permo trip guy. the hair, the jacket with no top on under it haha.

    ye ever took acid? haha

  32. HiImTee says:

Nah hes made a valid point.. there's always a group a dafties that like tae say they don't like something for whatever reason, just because everyone else likes said thing (said thing, aye am goin for it here).. there's also the other dafties that jump the bandwagon on things they wouldn't watch/listen to/wank over if they were themselves (shameless/kings of leon/women). They're an awright bunch though if yer right intae yer hating things, or vice versa.

  33. davie_c says:

“I hope yous like it”? Like what bit more like. 3 hours of air time and what did you deliver that was genuinely funny in all that time? Maybe 30 mins. Max. The phrase “spead too thin” comes to mind. Before you say you were't always trying to be funny and were trying to let everybody know what a thinker you are and that we can all be informed, educated or even entertained with your material remember where you started. A couple of internet videos and then a blog. You were given a series to make folk laugh remember.

EVERY single person that I recommended your show to prior to the pilot said roughly the same thing afterwards – a couple of funny bits. Mostly boring and unfunny.

The funny thing is I think deep down you KNOW the bits most people will find funny but for some reason you continue to create these scenes which most folk just won't get – either we just don't understand true comedic genius or you are diluded.

It's like going to watch stand up. You know a comedian isn't winning the audience and dying on his/her arse. You start to cringe for them. On tv you don't get to face that humiliation. What you do get is a bunch of sycophants on here who go “genius” and “laughed throughout”.

Now before you write me off as someone who is completely one sided and entirely negative in my criticism I will say that you have the potential to produce some genuinely hilarious stuff but for some reason you insist on creating these unfunny, abstract pieces that will ultimately stop you attaining mass appeal. Don't you want that? After all, it's mass ratings that get you a second series and paid. If you don't want that then good luck with the web design.

  34. CalumM says:

Guys, he didnae forget his bag. That was stuff he was dropping off at her bit. And everybody should shut the fuck up and never comment on the series ever again, cos aw you get is either wee fannies thinking they're Limmy's best mate cos they seen him in Glasgow once and jumping to his defence the moment anyone levels any kind of criticism (warranted or otherwise) at him, or a different set of wee fannies deconstructing it like a fucking episode of Twin Peaks.

  35. TerryOnTheWeb says:

I saw Limmy marching up Great Western road yesterday and was like, “fuck, I must be on permo”

  36. Limmy says:

The Adventure Call music is Jean Michel-Jarre.

  37. Limmy says:

    Thanks for the comments, everybody.

There was one long, negative comment I deleted there. Not because I can't take some negative criticism, but because he's a known fanny using a new email address, and I like banning him.

  38. karlheinzrummenigge says:

    Get Troll.

  39. broonbottle says:

Last weeks show was my favourite. I loved the sketch with the funeral. My kids were all goin “What`s the ploblem” all week long. Mr Mulvaney was good as well. Well done and thanks for the Monday night entertainment..

  40. Elaine says:

Och well, that's it then sadly. I did thoroughly enjoy each show & at least I know I can always watch them again & still laugh, if not more so. It was mostly the wee bits I laughed at properly in the last one like the lean bacon sketch, you falling at the bottom of the stairs & sniggering at someone emerging from the hairdressers (I always venture out after a haircut a bit uptight so I'll be extra para now)

If I phoned up Adventure Call then I'd be like that last guy…how are you supposed to know what to do let alone wi a troll?! No-one's mentioned you gettin enthusiastically 'entertained' at the start so that must've been blanked from our memories…

All the best anyway, hope this brings good things to you & Lynn.

  41. Quality stuff. Ah very rarely actually watch the tele, never mind the same programme every week – but Limmy's Show was the exception. Ah'd be behind any attempts to get the BBC to get another series on the go 110%.

  42. Galvanizer says:

I wanted to like it and I gave it a chance and thought it was mince, how can some cunts on here no get that? Just cause somebody dizny like something doesny mean there just no liking it for the sake of it, I actually didn't think it was funny, and most people I've spoken to didn't like it either, only seems to be here when you get wee arse licking cunts saying how it was amazing then quoting a wee line from it at the end of their posts, as if they're total patter merchants.

So hows that being wide ya wee wank?

  43. fraserg says:

please report to Scientology for reprogramming

  44. joefritzl says:

that's what you should have replied in the first place then.

just writing “Absolutely fucking nonsensical statement” makes you sound like a prick.

expand your arguements a wee bit rather than that closed ended statement.

  45. andy says:

i love it when joefritzl makes a serious post.

those eyebrows go diagonal, the moustache sinks a little to the left, a slight wrinkling appears around the cheeks, and the eyes seem to say “hey baby!”

  46. Elaine says:

    Calm doon.

Get some Chelsea Whoppers from an olde style sweet shoape & put Brian Wilson 'Smile' on.

  47. for me the last episode stood oot… I don't know why??… just watched it the once so far. But it'll click why, probably the next time.

I hope ye get another series Limmy… it's different, new (was gon say fresh there like a right fanny) and very original

    well in amigo!

  48. couldnae have said it any better myself haha

  49. johnnyorgan says:

Loved the majority of it. Episode 5 had the me and my family (and a family friend) altogether in the living room, watching it on the big TV in fits of laughter. So that's got to be my fave episode, for that reason. My family are all big fans and a good few of my mates. I told them about your stuff but you converted them into followers with this series. That's all I can say. We love your stuff.

Everybody only seems to be talking about a second series but I have a sneaking suspicion that you'll want to try something else now. Whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it as are a big mad squad from north east Glesga.

Job well done Limmy. Job well done.

  50. guesto says:

where can i get an avatar?

  51. RobbieStewart says:

The show cheered me up a wee bit during the winter's cold. Me, my brother and my dad watched it while my mum was half asleep, occasionally waking up and saying 'whit's this pish that's oan?'.
Obviously she thought about it too much.

    Good work :)

  52. MikeyBhoy says:

Almost had a Mr Mulvaney moment myself on Tue night. Copper turned up at the door asking if I'd seen or heard anything regarding damage to a white car parked between 0100hrs and 0700hrs, just outside the house. Now, I could have said

“Officer, seriously, are you in some way implying that I had something to do with the smashed windows and slashed tyres? I'm a grown man of 39. What's that, you say? You didn't mention anything about smashed windows, so how could I have know about them …”

etc. etc., Thats what I could and should have said, but instead I just said

“No, sorry, but good luck catching them”

However I did shout “gies yer jaiket” as I shut the door.

  53. Highpoint says:

Just watched a bit on the news about the Olympics, where this one bird in a skiing event fell as soon as she left the gates at the top. Imagine that. Training for four years; whole career leading up to this point. Boom, falls on her arse. I just thought about you kicking over that table with the cards on it. “And that's life!”

  54. adolfitler says:

There's a wee australian guy named Benny Harvey on Bebo the now and he's gettin absolute PELTERS

  55. xbrandxnewx says:

I wasn't meaning or trying to say that every single person that said the show was shit, was only doing so to not like something that had became popular. i was saying alot of people didnt even give it a chance. What i ment by people who didnt give it a chance was the people who watched one episode expecting to be in hysterics and inseen they didnt laugh nonstop for 20 odd mins, they decided the show had to have been unfunny shite.
Or also what i was saying in my first comment about people who were just saying they didnt like it because they didnt want to like something popular. you do get twats like that.

and of course youl also get people who dont like it cause they might not find any of it funny, or they might find it too dark or whatever, iv said in previous comments there will be people that dont like it, as i dont think theres ever been a show that everyones thought was amazing.

in my comment above, i was just talking about the people who didnt give the show a chance, not people who watched it and didnt like it, but didn't even give themselfs a chance to like it.

anyway, thats enough procrastinating for one day.

  56. Ross Milton says:

Cheers for the laughs. What now?

  57. guest247 says:

too many guests on here now.

  58. andy says:

any plans for the summer tune? ringtone or download?
if not can you put it on the site again. no heard it in ages.

  59. lynn says:

    Your grammar makes me cringe.

  60. andy says:

that guy is the double of jack black!
i put a video on funny or die and it didnae go down well. it only got rated 59%.
either americans have a different taste or im a pish comedian.
    funnyordie/andyjock

  61. Duck says:

The show was hilarious Limmy hope to fuck the BBC wise up to themselves and let you do a second series.

  62. weemanafghan says:

Enjoyed the series. It was thoughtful, intelligent and quite often quite poignant. It was also very funny.Apart from a list of minor likes and dislikes about the series, what stood out for me was that you are a very good actor/performer, you make, in my opinion, very good contact with the audience. Enjoyin the work , keep it up. Cheers!
    p.s
Have you had any dramatic training?

  63. stillie says:

People who liked the show are gonny get called arselickers. People who didny like it are gonny get called over-critical dicks. Theres no way of avoidin it, so if you canny take it, just don't post – theres plenty of other fuckin websites (or so they tell me).

  64. joefritzl says:

forgot to say. that guy (cannae mind his name) in the permo trip sketch with you is a rotten actor. makes me cringe. wooden. you're better than him and you don't even have any experience.

    fire his fuckin arse.

  65. tommytaxi says:

congratulations on your series it was quality broadcastjng . liked all the old stuff but the new stuff was just as good (topping yes or no will be hard though . still can watch this on repeat and knot myself everytime ). a” making of ” addition to a dvd would explain how difficult it is to write / compile/organise just 1 episode never mind 6. The new stuff shows you are more than capable of a second series and this experience of tv will surely mean an even better 2nd series. Keep up the good work . Any plans for live show soon? You need to wear that falconhoof suit on stage thatt would be good live ( audience participation ) . thats if your not wearing it snicking aboot the west end.awra best

  66. Major Mawcum says:

    well done limmy..
the burd didny like it likes..the only time she laughed was on the permo sketch when ye look oot and say `she`s no laughin…aw she is noo` or suhing
fucking sureal mahn….she only likes vampire porn anyways likes..

My only complaint was it wusnae long enough.

here,as a reward I`ll let ye shoot me in the heed 30 times, and get yersel yer very ain tactical nuke….

good luck with the new series.

    :manhug:

  67. Hypo says:

I agree with the bold Joe. He was pish beyond belief, and he ruined your show Limmy. YOUR SHOW!! The other guy was appalling as well. Too late now though.

  68. Garrie says:

    Have to agree with joefritzl.

Tom Brogan is fucking shite at acting. He sounds like something straight out of River City, and even for that, he's shite.

He is, indeed, cringe-worthy. Replace him. Keep big Mearns though, he's a buzz.

  69. andy says:

talking shite garrie, hypo and fritzel. its not the godfather part II! its comedy sketches set in glasgow and the cast were all fine.

  70. joefritzl says:

comedy sketch show or not I still think we're entitled to semi-decent acting.

I'm not asking to see Robert Deniro appearing but like Garrie said, he talks in a dead exaggerated river city style way that took ma mind off the actual sketch and diverted my attention to his pish performance.

Mearns is good though. Just that other guy I thought brought nothing to the show.

  71. pete says:

    “Limmy's show is finished”

So let's take away the word show then.

    “Limmy is finished”

    See what i did there?

Caused controversy at 1 am hauf pished that's what i did

(and i genuinly mean that btw, genius pure genius and i genuinly mean that btw)

  72. thelastword says:

I liked the show on the whole, obviously coming into it with high expectations I was prepared to be let down.
Seeing as we are used to a minute long clip ever 6 months, expecting 3 hours worth of material to be 'dyno' as quoted above was a bit much.
Limmy himself, (probably get shot down here) would admit that some stuff worked better than other, not all of it was meant to be funny, or meant to be anything really, how do you describe a show with dancing, zombies at the door, social comment and kids animation..a fucking variety show?

So, i see the point here is that when guys come on and say the whole thing was amazing then they do seem like arselickers.

And, where the fuck is Eddiemunster? Is that not weird?

  73. moaninbasturts says:

    I liked the show

Sorry am I an arselicker now?

Pardon me for fuckin laughin. I'll try not to next time.

  74. jim112 says:

Series wis class, hope theres a second. That guy that was in the permo sketch is a prrrrrick. Av seen better actin doon the ymca.

  75. garrybuck says:

The ginger guy Mearns was immense. I think you've unearthed a gem there Limmy. A really good comedic actor. Unlike the fat broon haired gadgy, who was terrible. I get the impression he'd be better suited to Whats the story in Balimory or something like that. I can think of a number of sketches he almost ruined with his forced, amateurish facial expressions and mannerisms. How did he get through the auditions? Or was he the best you could find?

  76. joefritzl says:

Watch Mearns in this crackin video i found on youtube:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gl-WsOGG7k

  77. kebab1701 says:

Hahaha that video is brilliant joefritzl

  78. Galvanizer says:

Raymond Mearns has been on the comedy circuit for donkeys years, I don't think Limmy can take the credit for 'unearthing a gem'.

  79. garrybuck says:

Fair enough, my mistake. I've never seen him in anything else before, but I'll be keeping an eye out for him in the future. Although I see from his website he's done an advert for cheesestrings. Im sure Bill Hicks is turning in his grave.

  80. pete says:

Limmy approved a comment saying he unearthed Raymond Mearns without correcting the person.

    hmmmm

  81. Elaine says:

    hmmmm, Fly Fishing, by J R Hartley…

  82. tony89 says:

Hi limmy, I thought some parts of your show were genious (falconhoof, dd, jacqueline and a lot of your thoughts on climate change, cancer bands etc.) Its kind of the nature of comedy that I didn't find it funny the whole way through but every week there was at least one gem and usually more. So thanks for the series and I really hope you get a second one. On a side note, I'm a semi professional poker player and I thought I'd post a link to your show on a poker forum as its what makes me smiles again when I've lost $5k. Heres the link to my post it will be interesting to see what Americans make of your show:

    http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/76/laughs-lin...

  83. TatsMcGee says:

it's about time you had a show out .. waited years for this .. hope there is a second

here mate !!… you want this mushroom ?

  84. cooksi1 says:

You look well fit. Fancy a meet? Would love to get to know your tats.

  85. klebenstein says:

Totally gutted. They've taken it aff the i-player! Get them tae pit it back oan! A' only watched the first three episodes, was ready for another the night. On a side note Brian, you need to keep your creative therapy going. Get on the circuit wae some material. If ye don't, I'll come efter ye…

  86. andy says:

limmy did you read what the 2nd guy on this wrote? and is it true?
    http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/76/laughs-lin...

  87. Highway Patrolman says:

    This bit?

'He put 10 years of his comedy into that series and it came out average.'

  88. andy says:

you've got a crackin arse highwaypatrolman

    naw it wasn't that bit

  89. TatsMcGee says:

no ta cooksi .. i'm fed up .. not hard up

  90. TatsMcGee says:

limmy .. please tell me you'll be be back on tv for another series, don't break my heart

  91. moragmcmuff says:

    watch the rest on iplayer!

    now.

  92. Malcy says:

Great show, highly deserving of a second series! Look forward to the dvd. Put the pilot on it as well!

  93. callumcahill says:

the series was great loved every minute of it
will u be making another ?

  94. BigRoundBaby says:

“The man told officers that his ganja had not delivered the desired effect, leaving him feeling decidedly ill-at-ease and in the midst of a nightmare scenario where his girlfriend resembled a dolphin.”

Could this be Swedens own DeeDee?

    http://www.thelocal.se/25138/20100222/

  95. davidkirkwood says:

brilliant show best hing since still game

  96. davidkirkwood says:

y is it no onbc iplayer any more better than some of the crap tey show on it

  97. fxdgIt was brill! Loved the 'soap on a rodrfgdfgdfggfpe' dance!

  98. Matt in Seville says:

I LOVED Mulvaney especially because he obviously wasn't just lifted from World of Glasgow you pulled him out of your sleeve specially for TV and “Yer shite, ye've nae ideas left” clearly isn't true.

Aye so my favourites have been Mulvaney, Falconhoof and just trying to work out exactly where in Glasgow all the scenes are filmed. The first couple of double-takes are driving me mental, I think it's Dennistoun or just north of Dennistoun but cannae be sure. See when I get back to Glasgow next year, I'm jumping on buses fukeeyyyn everywhere, man.

  99. Wee Bor says:

half the clips were funny other half were shite. if u get a second series do more adventure call; funniest thing ever ha ha

  100. Jan says:

You'll always have a small but dedicated fan base in Denmark! Even if we only understand 65% of your scottish accent.

    We love ya! Come back!

  101. MarkAdamsOne says:

Limmy's Show Series 2 = Best news of my Life.

  102. mp32 says:

I just want to tell you how funny your show is. You hopefully know that already. Thanks and I hope there is another series. I am worried that I have been concerned by some of the issues affecting Dee Dee, in particular mmm Danone and why they play songs on ads for CD's that do not get listed on the screen, its just chaos out there and no one realises.
