Fuck yer London Eye!

Cos I just read in the news that there are plans to erect a big wheel outside Braehead Shopping Centre! Bosses say it will become a landmark in the west of Scotland!

A big wheel in the middle of fucking nowhere, only a mere 95 metres shorter than the London Eye itself!

Scotland.

Doing things by half, as per fucking usual.

Welcome to Stoneybridge.

Know what they should do? Tie all the shoplifters and neds to the spokes and let them go round and round till they die. It’ll be like the Roman Arena or Mad Max:Beyond Thunderdome. Imagine the increase in visitors.

How long before there’s just a giant brick left in it’s place?

What’s the point of a wheel? What does it signify? Why don’t we just have a fucking massive buckfast bottle in its place. At least that would mean something.

I just bought these box sets and got them sent to Namibia. If this package goes missing before I get there, some African family will be watching some great (and very reasonably priced) British comedy classics.

I can see the point of getting on the London Eye and seeing all the world famous landmarks from up the the actual clouds.

What, therefore, is the point of getting 120ft in the air ootside Braehead where all you can see is a formulaic shopping complex, a few run-down docks, a crappy hospital and an abundance of dull, overpriced flats, sorry “apartments”, that will take 30 years to achieve anything like full occupancy?

I suppose if you really squint you might be able to see the Silverburn centre, where Glasgow City Council will no doubt erect an even bigger wheel so as not to be outdone by Renfrewshire Council.

  16. Laura says:

To be fair, you will see a lot of Glasgow from that wheel. We looked at getting it at my work {xscape}, but Braehead snaffled it first. If you ever do that sea plane thing, you’ll see just how much of a view you’ll get. Aye granted, its no as big as the London eye, but its still pretty impressive!
