kinda off topic, but i know you like moaning, and i know you like sweets, so…
the other day i was looking at some cadburys chocolate bars in a shop, and came across these new fancy wrappers, you may have seen them. instead of the shiny glossy packets cadburys chocolate have had for ever, these are sleeker, like brushed metal. they look fancy as hell. this is because they are covering a horrible con.
im talking about the 250g range of bars, dairy milk, fruit and nut, crunchie, everything that came in a 250g bar. theyve changed the packaging, and cut the bar down to 230g. fair enough perhaps, but they havent changed the price, youre still being charged what you were being charged for 250g, but getting 230g. thats almost 10% less.
what makes this worse is the new bars are almost idendical in size to the old bars, they havent removed squares or anything – they must have skimmed a gram of chocolate off the top of each square. they clearly did this thinking that no one would notice, while theyre sitting raking in nearly 10% more money.

Seanuts they are not making ten per cent more money, all other things being equal. The amount of revenue would be the same in case. Their costs will have gone up for milk, cocoa, fuel to power the factory machinery, fuel to transport the goods and the minimum wage has gone up so they will be paying staff more. We got off lightly.
