I watched The Simpsons Movie a couple of weeks ago, and laughed about once, and I like the Simpson’s anaw. In fact, I’ve been laughing at fuck all recently, there ye are.
Until I saw Flight of the Conchords the other night on BBC Four. Here was their first song of the show:
I’m sure a few of you will go “Mate, they’ve been out for ages, I saw them live 8 years ago”, but that’s the first time I’ve seen them, and I was gutting myself. Laughing loooud as fuck.
I’ve been genuinely starting to wonder if I’m on the verge of some kind of depression or disconnection from everything, Pink Floyd The Wall style. But Flight of the Conchords helped me realise it’s not me that’s the problem, it’s everycunt else.
Yeah these guys are good – I came across their series while I was trying to find something half decent to watch in the states this summer, its a but like the mighty boosh – hopefully the beeb is going to show the whole run.
Lighten up!
I think its time for an e…
http://www.engrish.com/ is usually good for a laugh.
Limmy, you must be having a laugh cos that was utter shite! 6 mins of my life wasted. Now lets never speak of this again.
Aye, they are brilliant. The show they did for HBO is on BBC4 on Tuesday nights from this Tuesday coming and its well worth a ganders.
Yeah The Simpon’s film is okay, but nothing to write on the back of your leather jacket.
Funny programmes – Arrested Development (film in the post I hear….) – Curb Your Enthusiasm (Series 6 is on now – downloaders, you know what to do)
The guy in the glasses is in a great film called Eagle Vs Shark – it was on in the GFT last month – really funny.
hmmm … couldn’t even get through half of that. i reckon my spiral into despair requires acoustic accompaniment …
I randomly flicked over onto that the other night and thought it was fucking great. Looking forward to their new show on bbc four on Tuesday.
Here’s a wee documentary thing they did when they played at SXSW in Texas:

The Conchords are class, NZ represent. Check out Superbad for a few laughs too, so juvenile and hilarious
If Curb, Season 6 (currently airing in US) doesn’t make you laugh out loud then you’re in trouble. That’d be my gauge anyway.
Aren’t all comedians, by their very nature, miserable bastards?
That’s the first time I’ve seen these guys as well (not that that means much), but there you go. Funny indeed.
hah! i was pissed off that i missed it when it was on, we don’t have bbc4!!
you should have gone to see eagle vs. shark when it was out, it was hilarious
They are huge here in their native New Zealand.
And after you bagged NZ so badly in your travels too Limster…
I watched that clip you’ve posted, and another couple on youtube. I thought “this is slightly amusing” but I didn’t smile or laugh; just thought “I can see why people might think this is amusing”. A bit like typing LOL, ROFL and HAHA on your keyboard, but with an expressionless face.

Have you been there? There is a great place to see uploaded videos and fun, some really great mad stuff :=)
Subscribe to that.
OMG I discovered them like 3 weeks ago, they’re all over my bebo… not very impressive but a weird coincidence eh? Was it the actual sitcom that was on or was it the HBO one night stand? The sitcom is like… possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen and I have a wee fancy for both of them… not at the same time mind, they can take turns.

I agree, total shite and I knew there would be folk sooking up your arse saying “Oooh Limmy, I loved it too, you are the master of all”
I think the word I’m looking for is Arse-Lickers

I’m trying to think of a funny joke, but I’ve got nothing. Gie’s a minute…
Nevermind.

Now now. I think we all know that if Any fae Fife says they’re shite, they must be.
I actually found that kind of depressing, rather than funny. Nope, not my cup of tea.
That was shite.

Hahaha – you really are an angry man. Why not take up table tennis? It’ll take your mind off things.

Funny programmes – Arrested Development (film in the post I hear….)
Nice one!!
Arrested Devlopment is easily my favourite show of all time. I hate shows like 24 and Lost that punish you for missing one epsiode. Whereas, with Arrested Development, you’re rewarded for paying attention with subtle wee in-jokes relating to past episodes.
Typical that a show like that is always shown at 01.00-02.30 on a Sun on BBC2.
Limmy – Watch it and restore your faith in comedy!! Or if you have seen it and still feel like shite then yer totally fucked.
Didn’t really find those guys all that funny.
I saw a guy do the splits when he slipped on a greggs poke at george square. Now THAT was funny.
Too long, not funny and the end was predictable.
Seen any Zach Galifianakis, Limmy?

What’s the fucking difference between ‘punishing you’ for missing episodes and having ‘subtle wee in-jokes relating to past episodes….’…??????
Eh….?
Aye, Arrested Development is pure class. It’s a disgrace that it was cancelled.

Don’t know – I think you can just watch any episode of Arrested Development, but you might find it a bit weird if you haven’t seen pervious ones… I’ve never seen 24 Hours – don’t know anything about it.

Stuff is only REALLY funny when somebody gets hurt/slandered/defecates accidentally.
I cannae remember the last time I laughed at a ‘joke’. Jokes are shite. I’m sorry, but unless someone is being subjected to something that isn’t a bit horrible, it just isnae fun.

The way I see it, if you randomly watch, say, episode 6 of series 2 of Lost then you probably wont have a clue what’s going on. Do the same with Arrested Development and you can still find it funny and get what’s going on. But if you’ve watched it from day one, then what may seem like a random throwaway line is actually a very funny reference to a previous episode.
Just my opinion though. Others may not see it that way, and maybe saying I hate shows like that was a poor choice of words, but it does annoy me.
go to TV-Links and look up “Trailer Park Boys”. If that doesn’t put a smile on yer fizzer…check for a pulse.
Right, so everycunt hates them, I see.
Right, so everycunt hates them, I see.
Maybe you had just eaten a lot of sugar and were quite excitable at that particular moment. Go back and try again.
Right, so everycunt hates them, I see.
Nah, I really like them. I saw it last week and i’m aw excited about the show on tonight. It’s just really stupid humour. And i’m really stupid so it totally appeals to me.
Maybe the series will be a load of shite but I thought the live show was great.
I agree with Beatonic, I don’t generally find jokes that funny, I am more into funny patter.
Watch some Family Guy…that’ll get ye gawn!
Or Family guy is derivative, non funny garbage manufactured for the uneducated masses, whichever

Arrested DEvelopment was excellent during the first series. By the second series standards were slipping. The third series was embarrassing to watch with its dreadful Austin Powers style characters. It had truly jumped the shark -they should have stopped on series 2.
Starting on Paramount Comedy tonight (Monday 1st Oct) at about 9pm or something is “Knights Of Prosperity.” Little known obscure US sitcom that was buried in the American schedules and didn’t do very well. Fuckin’ shame. It’s a cracker. Check it oot.
Sandy.x.
downloaded the series a couple weeks ago, best new comedy i’ve seen in a very long time.
Just watched episode 2 on BBC4 last night – and its the funniest TV show I’ve seen in ages. Brilliant.
